None of the above are required, and surprisingly, no magician needed either.  The last year has made us overnight experts in everything relating to our home. Spending so much time here, we are aware of all its attributes and equally all its flaws. Sometimes it feels like it is bursting at the seams, as many homes have become places of work too.

So, you want to make it appear larger but not sure how this can be done without having to get an extension? 

Recently, we carried out an installation at a home that was lacking storage. The loft had never been used, mainly due to the lack of access. There was no ladder, the hatch was tiny, so it was tricky to access it, and there was no boarding either.  It had been completely disregarded. Why would you even think about it as an additional location to store things?

Once we had extended the access and installed a loft ladder, insulated and boarded it, it was almost like having another room.  The owner was over the moon and said we had actually made their home feel larger.  In essence, we had. Their spare room and garage were full of boxes, and neither actually used for its intended purpose. Once the work had been carried out on the loft, all the items were organised and stored away easily. There was now a free garage and a free bedroom.  The answer is simple, use your loft. That spare bedroom could become a valuable home office so there is no longer a need to huddle in the kitchen.

It really is quite simple, to make your home appear larger, use your loft as a valuable storage solution so can use other rooms efficiently.
