Who knew there were so many different loft ladders to choose from? But which is this most suited for your home?

For most homes, the standard 2 or 3 section Werner aluminium ladder is perfectly suitable.  The two section loft ladder fits most modern homes however, the 3 section just gives an extra 30 cm in height for those with higher ceilings.  In addition, a safety handle can be fitted to the ladder to give extra safety and peace of mind for those less confident. The standard aluminium ladders fit most lofts but occasionally where there is limited space we need to look for an alternative solution and that’s where we introduce you to the ‘Telescopic’version. These ladders only require 23cm clearance in front of the hatch as the ladder neatly closes up and predominantly sits above the hatch when stowed. The telescopic also offers a deeper step and slightly sturdier feel.

Are you a regular visitor to your loft? Then the ‘Wooden ladder’ could be a good solution for you with its deep step and rigid feel. These come in a variety of sizes , a fully insulated frame and a hatch is included. The ladder itself folds up onto the door so requires no additional stowage space in your loft.

Occasionally we are asked to fit ladders to properties with a ceiling height greater than three meters. We have the perfect solution for this with either the Werner aluminium ladder or a Fakro sliding wooden loft ladder. These ladders are very sturdy with deep steps but do require space in the loft when stowed away.
